Wash small cucumbers
Put in a crock and cover with boiling water
Add
2 tbs salt
3 tbs vinegar
4 heads fresh garlic cut into small pieces

Sprinkle in bay leaves and box pickle spices
Cover very securely. Put in cool dark place. Check after 3 days
