1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp. corn starch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
5 to 6 cups cubed, peeled tart apples
1 cup cranberries (fresh)
1/4 cup Karo syrup (light or dark)
1 tsp. grated orange peel

Topping:
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, or uncooked oats
1/2 packed brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat over to 350. In large bowl combine sugar, corn starch, cinnamon & nutmeg. Stir in other ingredients, except topping. Spoon into shallow 2-qt. baking dish.

For topping: Combine oats or walnuts, brown sugar and flour. Cut in margarine until crumbly. Sprinkle over cranberry mixture.

Bake 50 minutes, or until apples are tender. Serve warm.
