Directions:
Sprinkle tablespoon of sugar over warm water. Sprinkle yeast over this and let stand in a warm place to double in size, about 10 minutes.

Mix milk, sugar, flour and yeast mixture in a plastic or glass container. Stir using a wooden spoon and cover loosely.

Place in a warm place overnight. The next day, refrigerate loosely covered, and try to stir each day. On the 5th day, measure out one cup to bake with. Then feed with: 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup sugar. Stir every day and keep in refrigerator. On the 10th day measure out another cup and bake or give to a friend. Feed again. Return to refrigerator and feed every 5 days. Makes 2 cups.
