Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 24 oz. (1 lb. 8 oz.) seedless raisins, 2 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1 pint sour cream (2 cups), 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and allspice (modified from the original recipe of 1/4 tsp. of each), 1 deep dish pie shell for each pie, 2 9 inch shells for topping on each pie.

Directions:
Directions:
Break the eggs in a large bowl; beat 2 minutes. Add sugar gradually. Beat well for about 2 minutes. Add sour cream and beat again at least 1 minute.

Measure the 3 spices and add one at a time. Beat again for 2 minutes. (It would be good to add the raisins at this point, ed.) With large spoon, place into deep dish shell until full. Use the rest of the mixture for the second shell. Cut strips of the crust and fit into place on top of the pie. (Bake at 450 for 20 minutes). Enjoy!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
We enjoyed this pie at McGraw family reunions. The recipe was written by Aunt Jane Peckham to her granddaughters, Janie and Anneliese Stoever. Their Mom, Janie added this note:
Dear McGraw family,
Mom loved this recipe and taught it to Janie and Anneliese when they were about 12 and 14 years old. They shared the "Cannot Fail Raisin Pie" at the party at Mary and Chuck's house after Mom's wake, and many of you said you wanted the recipe. A few notes: We bake the pies longer than the 20-25 minutes Mom suggested. We've always loved it that she left out the step of adding the raisins to the mixture. The recipe is for 2 pies.
Love, Janie
