1 cup butter or oleo
1-1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup molasses
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
2 tablespoons milk
4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoons ginger
1-1/2 teaspoons cloves
Sugar to roll cookies in before baking

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat together butter, oleo, sugar and egg until light and fluffy. Beat molasses, corn syrup and milk until well blended. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Beating until well blended. Shape dough into walnut size balls. Roll balls in sugar. Place 3-inches apart (do not press down) on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes until golden brown. DO NOT OVER BAKE OR COOKIES WILL NOT BE SOFT.

Cool 1-2 minutes on baking sheet before removing to cooling rack.
