4 teaspoons cornstarch
3/4 teaspoon sugar
4 tablespoons soy sauce
8 teaspoons water
4 cloves garlic, crushed
vegetable oil
4 chicken breasts, skinned and boned, cut crosswise in 1/4-inch-wide strips
1 pound asparagus, thinly sliced diagonally

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together cornstarch, sugar, soy sauce, water, and garlic. Toss chicken in mixture and marinate for at least one hour. Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over fairly high heat. Add chicken and marinade and asparagus. Stir-fry until chicken is cooked.
