1/2 c. butter, softened
2 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
3 oz. unsweetend chocolate, melted and cooled
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1 c. water
peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine butter & brown sugar; beat in eggs, chocolate and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately w/ sour cream. Gradually beat in water. Pour into 2 greased & floured 9" round baking pans. Bake at 350 for 56 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing. Frosting; 1 c. butter, 1 c. peanut butter, 4 c. powdered sugar, 1/4 c. cream, 2 tsp vanilla, 2 c. finely chopped peanuts. Cream butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a mixing bowl until smooth. Split each cake into 2 layers. Place a bottom layer on a serving plate, spread w/ 1/2 c. frosting. Repeat layers. Frost w/ remaining frosting. Gently press peanuts into sides of cake.

I got this recipe from a quaint restaurant in Red Wing. She serves it refrigerated and it is fabulous! I didn't know if I would like the peanut butter frosting but it is wonderful. I have used the chocolate cake recipe and added chocolate frosting too.
