1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
2 cups raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening; add sugar and eggs one at a time; beat until light. Add sifted dry ingredients, raisins and nuts; mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a moderate 350 F. oven for about 10 minutes.
