2 c. brown sugar
2 c. hot water
4 tlb. shortening
1 tlb. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c raisins
boil together for 5min, cool add 3 c flour.
add 2 tsp soda.
Bake 325 oven

This was found in Grandma's receipes but I have never tried it. Grandma would always have something baked so when I picked her up to go to church she would send something home with me. Her house always smelled to good on Sundays as she would be cooking a roast.
