3 ounces fresh domestic goat cheese
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
4 basil leaves, rolled and cut into strips for garnish

Directions:
Combine the oil and garlic in a small bow; stir to blend. Place the goat cheese in a small, shallow bowl or on a serving plate and sprinkle with the lemon zest and pepper. Add the thin strips of basil. Top with the oil and garlic mixture. Let stand at room temperature so the cheese will be soft and spreadable.

Serve with crackers, crostini and/or raw vegetables.
