1/2 c. softened butter or margarine
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. all purpose flour *
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
* If using self-rising flour, omit cream of tartar, soda, and salt.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 2 tbsp. sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in the mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bat at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
