1 1/2 c cranberries
6 tbsp water
2 tsp orange zest, cut thin
6 tbsp sugar
1/2 c strawberry jam
1 1/2 lbs brie, cut into 6 wedges(the brie should not be over-ripe or triple cream)
1 1/4 c vegetable oil
1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 c fresh bread crumbs

Place cranberries, water and orange zest in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Then remove from heat and stir in sugar and strawberry jam. Return to heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes more. Pour into a serving bowl and keep hot.

Heat vegetable oil to 350. Prepare separately in three bowls, flour, egg and bread crumbs. Coat the cheese wedges in flour on all sides. Dip into the beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs. Deep fry for about 3 minutes on both sides, or until the bread crumbs are golden. Drain well on paper towels. Serve hot accompanied by cranberry sauce.
