1 T butter
2 T flour
12 oz good beef broth
12 oz jar Italian red sauce (marinara)
1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
1cup half and half (or table cream)
salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in med. hot sauce pan and add flour to make a roux. Slowly stir in beef broth and thicken to gravy consistency. Add red sauce and stir to mix well. Add ground beef and cook until all ingredients are hot. Remove from heat and add cream...stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve on pasta. I use very wide noodles. Top with plenty of Parmesan cheese.

This is a quick version of the very long and involved method many Italian cooks use: making their own broth and red sauce and then using shredded pot roast instead of ground beef. You can substitute the shredded meat if you like...It makes a more elegant dinner.
