1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 eggs
1-1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda disolved in 1 T. of hot water
1 c. mashed bananas

Cream shortening and sugar: add well beaten eggs, soda and flour. Add bananas. This recipe is rather stiff and does not make a very large cake. The recipe can be doubled for a large loaf cake. 350 until inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Harvest Frosting:

1/2 c. Margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. light brown sugar
2/3 c. cream

Cream margarine. Add vanilla. Add sugar and cream alternately. Beat until light and fluffy.
