1/2 cup cocoa
3 eggs
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)

1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Mix flour, sugar, and cocoa. Add shortening, milk, and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Scrape bowl occasionally. Add eggs and beat for 2 more minutes. Grease and dust cake pans with flour. Bake at 350 in 8" pans for 35 to 40 minutes, 9" pans for 30 to 35 minutes, and oblong 13"x9" for 40 to 50 minutes.

Minute Fudge Frosting: Mix all ingredients, except vanilla. Stir over low heat until chocolate and shortening melt. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute (220). Remove from heat and beat until lukewarm (120). Stir in vanilla. Continue beating until a smooth spreading consistency. Frosting is enough for two 8" or 9" layers or one 13"x9" oblong pan.
