Egg whites 2
Sugar 1 1/2 c (can use white or brown)
Cream of tartar 1/8 tsp
Water 1/2 c
Salt - a few grains

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in the top of a double boiler pan and place over the boiling water. Use electric mixer and beat until knife makes a clean cut, usually around 7 minutes. Flavour and if desired color, to taste. Makes enough for 2 nine inch layers.
