1/2 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. salt
1 c. water
2 eggs
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
FROSTING:
1 stick butter
1/2 c. peanut better
6 T. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Powdered sugar

CAKE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda, set aside. In a small bowl, mix eggs and buttermilk and set aside. In small saucepan, bring peanut butter, water, and butter to a rapid boil. Pour boiling mixture over dry mixture and beat well with an electric mixer. Add buttermilk and eggs mixture and beat well. Pour into greased cake pan. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake is clean.
FROSTING: Bring butter, peanut butter, and buttermilk to a rapid boil. Remove from heat. Pour into a mixing bowl. Add vanilla and enough powdered sugar to make the frosting thick (about 4 cups). Frost cake and serve.

I like to decorate this cake with chocolate chips. Sometimes I use chocolate frosting for a peanut butter cup flavor.
