2 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 /2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
3/4 cup mashed cooked pumpkin
1/4 to 1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Add shortening and pumpkin. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and milk and beat 2 minutes longer. Turn into 2 greased and floured 8 inch cake pans. Bake at 375 for about 25 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool slightly and turn onto racks to cool. Fill with Spiced Frosting.
