1 (8 ounce) sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sour cream and milk. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix after each addition. Stir in vanilla.

Bake in 3 greased and floured 9 inch round cake pans at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes and then cool completely on wire rack. Spread Caramel Frosting between layers on top and sides of cake.
