1 c. packed light brown sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 lb. butter or margarine
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 quarts fresh popcorn (1/2 cup unpopped)

Directions:
Directions:
1) Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, cream of tartar, and salt. Heat to boiling, stirring over medium-high heat. Stir constantly, boil rapidly about 5 minutes.
2) Remove mixture from heat. Stir in baking soda quickly, but thoroughly and pour at once over popcorn in large roasting or baking pan. Stir gently until all kernels are coated.
3) Bake in preheated 200 F oven for 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times during baking.
4) Turn out at once on waxed paper; spread apart & allow to cool completely. Break apart and store in tightly covered container.
