1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/2 c. margarine, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, unsifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips (optional)

Frosting:
1/3 c. creamy peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl stir together the peanut butter and margarine until creamy. Gradually beat in the sugars. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add to peanut butter mixture. Fold in chocolate chips if desired. Spread batter into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. To prepare frosting: beat the peanut butter and vanilla together. Beat in 2 T. milk and 1 c. powdered sugar until smooth. Gradually add the remaining sugar and milk until smooth and of good spreading consistency. Frost cooled bars.
