3 tbsp. butter
1- 4 oz. can sliced mushrooms
l large onion cut into 1/2 inch slices
2 - 4 lbs. lean beef stew meat, flank steak, rump roast, round steak (I use lean beef stew meat)
1 tbsp. bottled horseradish
1/2 - 1 cup water
1 - 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 cup sour cream

Directions:

Melt butter in fry pan; saute mushrooms, onion slices 5 minutes or so & remove from pan.
Add enough cooking oil to pan to brown meat.
Remove fat & tough fibrous skin from meat.
Cut meat into 1 inch strips or tiny cubes; shake in flour; brown on all sides.
Place onion, mushroom mixture on top of meat.
Mix horseradish, water & tomato, salt, pepper in bowl and pour over onions, mushrooms & meat. ( I usually use more water than it calls for - adding it as needed).
Cover; cook over low heat for 2 hours or until tender.
Just before serving, ADD SOUR CREAM.
Serve over noodles or rice.
