Beat (cream) butter and sugar together
Lightly beat the 2 eggs
Mash the bananas
Measure the flour and add the baking powder
Now add the eggs, bananas and the flour.
Heat the milk and baking soda until frothy and then add to the mixture and mix through thoroughly. (If you donít, there will be dark brown streaks in the baked cake).
Pour into 2 greased sandwich tins and bake for
20 minutes at 180 degrees.
OR (as I do, pour into a single cake tin, and bake longer until the top springs back).
Ice with a caramel icing - butter, icing sugar, golden syrup. Icing is optional, but the kids love it.
