3 cups of sugar
3 1/2 cup dark syrup
1/2 cup of molasses
1 cup of lard
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon anise oil
2 teaspoon soda dissolved in a little lukewarm water
flour

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, syrup, lard, butter, and molasses until soft ball stage. Cool. Add the eggs. Then add oil and soda. Add enough flour to make stiff dough. Bake 350 degrees. No time on recipe.
