1 to 3 C. sugar (I use 1 cup)
1 C. shortening
4 C. buttermilk
4 eggs
5 C. flour
5 tsp. soda
2 C. 100% bran flakes
2 C. boiling water
4 C. All Bran
2 C. raisins, if desired

Soak 100% bran flakes, All Bran, and Raisins in boiling water wntil soft.
Cream and mix first 4 ingredients.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to first 4.
Next, add the cereal mixture.
Mix and store in refrigerator at least overnight.
Cover tightly and will keep in ref. 3-4 weeks.
Bake in well greased muffin tins. 400 for 15 mins.
