"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
4 pounds hamburger 1 medium onion, chopped 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 2 medium jars salsa 2 packages taco mix 1/2 jar jalapeno peppers (or to taste) 4-5 cups shredded cheddar cheese 2 cans refried beans 1 can chopped black olives
Brown the hamburger and onion seasoned with the chili powder and garlic powder. Drain. Add remaining ingredients and mix altogether and heat until warm throughout. Place in a crockpot on low heat. Spread 1/2 cup cheddar cheese on top to melt. If dip is too thick, add 1/4-1/2 cup of milk until desired thickness.
This recipe is for a crowd. It makes a large crockpot full of dip.
