Ingredients:  
1 stick butter/margarine
1 c sifted 10x sugar
1 T & 1 t. vanilla
2 c flour
t. salt
1 T. Milk
16 oz jar maraschino cherries, drained
Chopped walnuts

Glaze:
1 c. 10 x sugar
2 T water
1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla.
Add flour, salt, & milk, blending well.
Shape 1 T. of dough around each cherry.
Place 1 apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 12-15 minutes at 350F. Remove to wire rack to cool.
Glaze: Mix all ingredients with wire whisk till smooth.
Dip tops into chocolate glaze and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
Yield: 4 dozen.
