3/4 c milk
1 T sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp salt

8 slices sandwich bread

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt with wire whisk or hand beater until smooth. Heat griddle or skillet over medium heat. Grease griddle with margarine if necessary. Dip bread into egg mixture. Place on griddle. Cook about 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

To cook in the oven: Heat oven to 500 F. Generously butter jelly poll pan. Heat pan in oven 1 minute; remove from oven. Arranged dipped bread in hot pan. Drizzle any remaining egg mixture over bread. Bake 5 - 8 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown; turn bread. Bake 2 - 4 minutes longer.
