Approximately 8 apples
1 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
3/4 c flour
1/2 c firmly-packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c butter

Directions:
Directions:
Thinly slice apples--yields approximately 6 cups. Mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Fill a 9" pie plate lined with pastry. Top with a mixture of 3/4 c flour, 1/2 c firmly-packed brown sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/3 c butter. Cut in the butter so the topping mixture is crumbly. Pinch up edges of the pastry and cover edges with foil during baking.
Bake at 400 for about an hour.
