2 lbs lean beef or veal, chopped
4 lbs apples
2 1/2 lbs raisins
4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp cloves
1 1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup Molasses
Grape juice, cider or water
1/2 lb Suet, ground
1 1//2 lb currants
1/4 lb Citron, Ground
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp mace
2 tsp salt

Pare, core and chop apples. Combine with remaining ingredients. Add water, cider or grape juice to moisten. Mix until meats and fruits are tender, and flavors are blended. if desired, any other fruit juice may be substituted for grape juice or cider. Pack in freshly sterilized jars. Seal.
