6 egg whites
dash of salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 squares (3 oz.) unsweetened chocolate grated

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until foamy throughout. Add salt and cream of tartar and again beat until stiff peaks form. Then add 1 1/2 c. of the sugar gradually, beating well after each addition, and again until stiff peaks form. Fold in remaining 1/2 c. sugar, the vanilla and grated chocolate. Drop by teaspoonful onto brown paper on a baking sheet. Bake at 250 for 20 - 25 minutes or until dry. Cool. Remove from paper. Makes 4 dozen.
