3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 beaten egg
2 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the molasses and egg. Sift together and add the flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Roll in a small ball and roll in sugar. Place on a greased baking pan. Bake 8-10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
