3 c walnuts
2 7-1/4 oz pitted dates (24 oz pkg makes 2 cakes)
1 c drained maraschino cherries (red & green mixed)
3/4 c sifted flour
3/4 c sugar
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
3 eggs
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl mix whole nuts, whole dates, whole cherries, sifted flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix by hand until all is well coated. Beat eggs until frothy, add vanilla, then pour over fruit-flour mixture. Mix by hand again. Bake in 9x5 loaf pan greased & lined with waxed paper. Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 300 . cool well before cutting.
