2 c. water
1 c. oatmeal
*3 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 pkg. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
4 3/4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water to boiling, add oats. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. Put into large bowl. Add *butter and 1/3 cup brown sugar. Dissolve yeast in 1/3 c. warm water. Add to the cool oats and stir in, well. Add: 4 cups flour (beat to smooth). Turn onto a floured board and add 3/4 c. more flour until smooth and elastic Let rise 1 hour, punch down. Let rest 10 minutes and make rolls. Bake in 350º oven

These are very quick to make. Mom would get up in the morning and have them ready for lunch. She was still making them at age 83 and they were fondly known as "Grandma Buns".
