3/4 cup shortening, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup flour,1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp soda, 1 cup nuts, 3 cups oatmeal.

Icing- 1/4 cup margarine melted, 1/2 box powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, add milk until smooth.

Cream together shortening,sugars,water and egg. add vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Fold in oatmeal and then nuts. Bake@350 for 8-10 minutes
