cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 cups uncooked oats
cup chocolate syrup
tsp vanilla

optional: can add 1 cup shredded coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Combine margarine, syrup and sugar in a medium size sauce pan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Add vanilla. Stir in oats (and coconut if adding it). Press mixture, quickly, into an ungreased 8 inch square pan. Let set in refrigerator. Cut into squares (circles, triangles or trapezoids Micah gets creative in the kitchen!). Makes 25 squares of 1 inches.

When we first arrived in Zimbabwe and we were using only a 2 burner hot plate Micah made these to make us feel that we had homemade cookies
