1 cup butter (not margarine)
2 cups sugar
3 cups plain flour
1 cup milk
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs - separated

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add well beaten egg yolks. Mix in sifted dry ingredients alternating with milk. Add vanilla, fold in beaten egg whites. Bake at 365 degrees for 14 25 minutes. Can be done as sheet cake or layered cake.
