2/4 c sugar
1 T flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 t ginger
3/4 t cinnamon
pinch cloves
1/2 t nut,meg
1 1/2 c thick pumpkin
1T molasses
1 T melted butter
2 eggs
2/3 c rich milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, salt & spices together. Mix together pumpkin, molasses, and butter. Combine with sugar mixture. Combine slightly beaten eggs and milk, then stir into unbaked pie crust. 350 oven for 30 minutes turn down to 300 about 30 minutes more.
Test: done when inserted knife comes out clean. Set on rack to cool.

This recipe was written on an index card by Edith Simpson. We don't know if it was a recipe given to her by Merle's mother. Edith's note (I use the whole can of pumpkin-about 2 cups-less sugar-& not quite as much spice.)
