4 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 ¾ c shortening

1 Tbsp vinegar
1/2 c water
1 well beaten egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, salt, sugar, and shortening. Add 1 Tbsp vinegar to ½ c water and 1 well-beaten egg. Add to flour mixture and mix well. Chill and roll out. Will keep in refrigerator for some time.

I’m not sure if this was Mom’s (Lura) recipe or Grammie’s (Frieda). It is written on a very aged 3X5-inch card that has turned brown. I’m guessing that it is Grammie’s because the handwriting isn’t the usual “perfect” penmanship Mom always had.
