2 c. sugar (less 3 tbsp.)
1/2 c. cold water
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, water, vinegar, and baking powder in saucepan, and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, beat egg whites and salt until stiff. When mixture on stove begins to boil, add 3 tbsp sugar to egg whites and beat well. Continue to cook syrup to soft ball stage, then pour very slowly over egg white mixture, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Set aside until cold before using.
