1 lb. fresh okra ½ tsp. salt 1 medium potato, peeled and diced 1 c. cornmeal ½ tsp. pepper vegetable oil
Wash okra and drain well. Cut okra into slices. Mix salt, pepper and cornmeal together. Toss sliced okra and potatoes in mixture. Carefully fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain and let stand a few minutes as it will be hot.
