Sift into bowl:
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Melt:
2 sticks margarine
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water

Add:
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Icing:
1 stick margarine
4 Tbsp. cocoa
6 Tbsp. buttermilk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Bring to a boil the melted ingredients and pour over the dry, sifted ingredients. Then add the buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Bake in cookie sheet with edge at 350 for 15-20 minutes.

Icing: melt margarine and cocoa and buttermilk together, bring to a boil. Then add powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on sheet cake while hot. Add nuts if desired.
