3 small cans minced or chopped clams (save juice)
1 c chopped onion (medium size pieces)
2 c cubed potatoes
1 c chopped celery
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 c real butter
3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp sugar
1 qt Half and Half

Directions:
Directions:
Place vegetables in a medium sauce pan and add juice from clams, salt, pepper, and sugar.
Add enough water to barely cover vegetables and simmer on medium heat until potatoes are firm tender.
Meantime
Melt butter and add flour to make a rue stirring constantly and then add the Half and Half. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until smooth and thick.
Add the cooked vegetables including juice and mix.
Add the clams and mix and serve.
