Linguini with Clam Sauce Recipe

1 (1 lb.) package linguine
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. vegetable or olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams, drained
1/4 c. finely chopped fresh parsley
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Shredded Parmesan cheese

Prepare linguine according to package directions. Drain. In heavy saucepan heat butter and oil. Saute garlic and clams over medium heat 2 to 3 min. Stir in parsley, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Simmer 5 min. Add hot cooked linguine to clam mixture; toss lightly. Sprinkle on shredded Parmesan cheese. Serve on warm platter.
