1 qt. sliced peaches or fresh blueberries
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine fruit, sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Place in an 8x8 dish and dot with butter. Combine the remaining ingredients to form a sticky dough, do not over mix. Flatten dough out slightly into pieces and place on top of fruit mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
