3 c. water
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 med. potatoes, diced
1 c. celery, diced
1 c. carrots, diced
1/2 c. onions, diced
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1 qt. milk
4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
2 c. cubed cooked ham

Directions:
Directions:
Put water, vegetables, salt and pepper in pot and bring to boil. Simmer until tender. (About 15 minutes.) Melt butter in larger pot. Blend in flour and then stir in the milk (low heat), stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute then reduce heat. Stir in cheese until melted. Add vegetables with the water and add ham. Stir until blended. Heat but do not boil.
