1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick)
1/3 cup confectioner sugar
1 T. water
1 t. vanilla
1 & 1/4 cups all purpose flour
dash of salt
2/3 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup California walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & confectioner sugar. Stir in water & vanilla. Add flour & salt. Mix well. Stir in dates & walnuts. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on foil lined cookie sheet - dull side up - about 2 inches apart. Bake in a slow oven (300) 20 minutes, or til cookies are set, not brown. While warm roll in confectioner's sugar & place on wax paper to cool.
