1 Lb. Sliced Portuguese Sausage or Substitute Italian or Polish Sausage
1 Large Carrot, Diced
1 Small Onion, Chopped
4 Cups Water
8 Oz. Can Tomato Sauce
1 Tbsp. Salt
2 Cans Kidney Beans, Drained
1 Large Head Cabbage (2 1/2-3 Lbs.), Chopped

Combine all ingredients except beans and cabbage in a large pot. Bring to a boil. Cover, lower heat, and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Add beans and cabbage. Simmer for 20 more minutes. Serve in a soup bowl with 1/4 cup cooked rice.
