2 c. diced peeled turnips
1/2 to 3/4 c. diced carrots
1 c. diced apple (peeled if skin is tough)

1/4 to 1/2 c. apple cider
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. sugar, (to taste, brown or white)
(No salt necessary)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook covered in microwave on high 3 minutes. Stir. Cook 1-2 minutes longer. Don't overcook! Turnips should be barely tender.

You may substitute pear for apple. The secret of this recipe is not to overcook the turnips.
