8 c. original or cinnamon Quaker Oats Squares (16 oz. box - I use Rice Chex instead)
2 c. pecans or walnut pieces
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine nuts and cereal in a 9 x 13 pan. Set aside.

Combine corn syrup, brown sugar and butter in a 2-cup microwaveable bowl. Microwave at high 1 1/2 minutes and stir. Microwave 1/2 to 1 1/2 minutes more or until it boils.

Stir in vanilla and soda; pour over cereal mixture. Stir to coat evenly.

Bake 1 hour at 350, stirring every 20 minutes. Spread on baking sheet to cool. Break into pieces.
